Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance played on a carillon becomes a web hit

Gaga’s hit was played by an Iowa State University music professor using a 110-foot-tall instrument known as a carillon, housed in a bell tower on the university campus.
A video of Bad Romance chiming across Iowa State’s grounds has hit nearly half a million views on YouTube in the past week.

The Des Moines Register says that music professor Tin-Shi Tam played it a week earlier after students started asking for it over the summer – including setting up a Facebook page encouraging people to request it.
Tam gives daily lunchtime performances on the carillon during the school year, mostly folk songs and traditional arrangements. She sets aside Fridays for requests, and said some other recent favorites have been Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody
